Pun Chun Noodle House @ Kota Kemuning, Shah Alam

Recalling of today's noon time, during lunch time damn funny, my Project Manager asked me "Where do you want to have lunch?" Since he joined close to two months, I often bring him out to kopitiam for chinese food that I used to eat during ex-company in Shah Alam back dated in the year of 2010.

Pun Chun's Confectionery

Those days, I been complaining that Shah Alam always do not have any delicious Chinese food around, well it is totally wrong. After many years, today I returned back to Kota Kemuning to try out the original Pun Chun Noodle House from Bidor. Those days, you need to drive 2 hours journey to Bidor just to eat this, now you can actually go to Kota Kemuning (first outlet) or Ara Damansara (second outlet) or Setia Alam (third outlet) in Klang Valley for Pun Chun's signature dish.

From office in Subang Jaya to Kota Kemuning takes me about 20 min drive, as we stepped inside, crowded with people, time was close 1PM during lunch hour. We smell herbs around the shops, drooling me, fast fast place our orders before towards the peak period. The shop originally still remaining the same since 2010 until now, corner shop lot, spacious yet cozy with ceiling fans.

Signature Duck Drumstick Mee

My PM started to tell me about his history visiting the original shop in Bidor while waiting for our food to be serve. He just can't wait to eat the Signature dish Duck Drumstick Mee. There's two version either you can choose for the DRY or SOUP base in size of SMALL or LARGE portion. Both different in between RM1 only.

He recommended me on SOUP base instead of the dry version. Original handmade using wanton mee with Pun Chun family's secret recipe, their duck drumstick soup using double boiled with a lot Chinese traditional herbs that you cannot never taste in any place. Owner it's generous with the filling, you will ginger slices, dried wolberries, dried longan, mushrooms, green vegatables, daun bawang, and most important is the big piece of duck drumstick meat.

Handmade Wanton Mee

See, wanton noodles are very tiny and chewy, swimming with broth together, 100% handmade, that you never regret! Sipping it into mouth, with "sup" "sup" sound. Caution it's hot and will burn your tongue. The main part was the Duck Drumstick. Meat was easily tear out from skin and bone. Soft tender melting in your mouth and I love sipping broth till the end of the bowl! Big bowl cost RM8.80 while the small bowl cost about RM7.80. Yummy!

Duck Drumstick

I remember I ever eat Mushroom Chicken Feet Noodles and Char Siew Wan Tan noodles before. Their specialty never fail me at all. They also have Rempah Curry Chicken, ,Dry Curry Pork Rib, Curry Mee, Sweet & Sour Pork Trotter too. Beside that, you will able to get Pun Chun confectionary biscuits such as  Chicken Biscuit or ‘Kai Chai Peng’ (literally Little Chick Biscuit) & Shat Kek Ma. I grown up with these biscuits during my childhood time as I will always by pass Bidor town while I going back to Teluk Intan hometown.

Jipangi @ Sunway Pyramid

I love to watch youtube video by Simon & Martina, features on Korean food quite some time ago. It's captures my attention when one of the famous Korean Ice-cream nested in Sunway Pyramid last December 2014. Jipangi in Korean means CANE dessert originally from Insa-dong South Korea which draws a lot attentions in local or international news lately.

Long queue after a week opening

Ice-cream came in a corn shape which very similar J-shaped  or is similar to a trumpet shape or stick (tongkat) shape etc. Simon & Martina in the youtube link below named it as "Penis" Ice-cream **Chuckle**  I can't help to laugh at first, it's really awkward, but please look at the positive side as this Ice-cream have it's own unique way in presentation style.

Creamy Vanilla at RM7

Jipangi well known as Korean traditional snack made from high quality corn flour fully imported from South Korea, which form into a big gigantic cane. Jipangi comes with two common flavors, Premium Chocolate and Creamy Vanilla at RM7 for each different flavors. You can either choose a single flavor or you even mixed both flavors together. Mixed flavors would RM9

After 1 week opening, I'm here =P

It's not an easy job, pumping Ice-cream into J-shaped would be a tedious way, require skillful work and patient. After watching how the's process and now it's time to try it out. Opppss, here's the awkward moment. Suck it up the Ice-cream from the upper part to prevent the ice-cream melting and leaking at the bottom part. Lastly I given a bite on the J-shape cone, it's crunchy fragrant with corn flavors. Ice-cream can stay at least an hour perfectly inside cone without soggy. I can walk around while enjoying, but be sure you finish within in an hour because it's will be messy all over your hand when Ice-cream start melting. I prefer vanilla than chocolate, because I'm a fan of vanilla instead of chocolate, plus vanilla pair well with corn stick =P

Americano RM8

Beside Ice-Cream, Jipangi do serve drinks as well. Their best sellers drinks are mostly coffee. I love coffee thus I opted Americano, one of the Korean Dutch Cold Brews which you should try, roasted from premium beans imported from Korea. Cold and refreshing fragrant with coffee aroma. They do have Latte, Mocha and Caramel coffee too. Jipangi located at LG2 near AEON Jusco, next to The Loaf Bakery.

Watch below video FAPFA by Simon & Martina on the Jipangyi Ice-Cream. Hehehe! Funny!

Milkcow Malaysia @ The Gardens Kuala Lumpur

The Garden's Kuala Lumpur

Popular trend nowadays with Milkcow Organic Softserve Ice Cream from South Korea. It happened to franchise it in Malaysia, where by the first opening outlet located at The Gardens since November 2014. Many updates on social network especially on Youtube, Blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram tempted me to try on it.

First Outlet in Malaysia

It's my second date with cousin sister, at this outlet. I worried it will long queue in the first place, with limited seats. Either you dine in or take away. While we're in the queue, I'm thinking which topping should I choose? So much varieties, tempted me to try out. Wondering which is good?

Macaroon for toppings

Honeycomb

It's very simple, you choose either ice-cream with or without toppings and pay at the counter. Most of the ingredients are originally from South Korea. Ranging from 11 types of different topping for your own preferences. Toppings like honey syrup, cotton candy, espresso, macaroons available too.

Varieties topping available

The most ultimate recommended is the Milky Cube, organic soft ice-cream coated with honey cube and drizzle with honey syrup. There's a trick to eat this, either you mixed together with the honey and ice-cream or you can wait until the honey cube melt itself before eating.

My first attempt was the ice-cream, smooth and creamy melted into mouth without any strong stain of milky odor. A scoop and a scoop, into mouth, this time I coated with honey together, sweet original honey from honeycomb itself. I don't advise you all to eat the honeycomb, contained wax taste which bland after honey is extracted out.

Milky Cube with natural honey RM13

Macao Dream have it own unique taste. Topped with almond and the choice of macaroon that you prefer (in terms of colors) Each macaroon just like a rainbow colors. Choose the type of macaroon that you prefer to go with ice-cream. Which is the best among all not until you try it out yourself. Crunchy and delicious while you're biting on it.

Colorful Macaroon

Macao Dream with sweet macaron and almond RM13

This my favorite among all, Milky Shot, sounds like Affogato Ice-cream to me. Espresso shot drizzled into Ice-cream. Rich with coffee flavor, bitterly sweet, perfect to go with ice-cream.

Milky Shot - Affogato Expresso RM11

Black Pearl - Chocolate sauce, organic salt, coco ball RM11

Black Pearl drizzled with chocolate sauce, organic salt and coco ball topping suitable for chocolate lover. Sweetness at the right taste. Perfect dessert while hanging out with friends.
